About us
Amerikanska Gymnasiet Stockholm – Stora Essingen is beautifully located on Segelbåtsvägen by the shores of Lake Mälaren on Stora Essingen. Here, you’ll find a modern school environment with spacious, bright classrooms and dedicated teachers.
We are proud of our central yet peaceful location, offering students both close access to the city and an inspiring setting for studies and activities.
More Than a School
At Amerikanska Gymnasiet Stora Essingen, we want to show that school can be more than just a place for lessons, it can be a complete experience.
Many of our classrooms have views of the water, and the school’s interior is designed in a calm, modern style inspired by contemporary office environments.
The school is easily accessible by tram, which stops just a few hundred meters away, or by bus and metro via Alvik and Liljeholmen.
Here, our students study university-preparatory programs in Natural Science, Social Science, Technology, and Economics – in an environment that combines academic growth with community and high school spirit.

Semester 3
- 2 mar: Semester 3 start
- 3 april – 10 april (v16): Easter break
- 1 may: First of may, day off
- 14 may - 15 may: Christ's ascension, day off
- 5 june: Graduation (no school for year 1 & 2)
- 12 june: School ends

Semester 1

- 19 Oct- 30 Oct: Autumn break
