What are profiles?
Across all programmes, you have the opportunity to choose an optional profile. For example, you can study the Natural Science Programme with the Music, Vocals & Performance profile or the Business Management Programme with the Artificial Intelligence profile. Profiles are offered as part of your individual elective studies. If you prefer, you can also combine different elective courses instead of choosing a profile.

Profiles are a way to personalise your education and explore an area you’re passionate about. As part of your elective studies, you can deepen your knowledge in a subject that interests you while learning alongside students who share the same enthusiasm.
Whether you choose Music, Vocals & Performance or Artificial Intelligence, you’ll have the opportunity to combine your academic studies with a subject you enjoy. Profiles allow you to broaden your education, develop your interests, and create a learning experience that reflects your ambitions.

Choosing Your Program and Individual Electives
At Amerikanska Gymnasiet, we do a few things differently. One of them is how students choose their specialisation and individual electives (Profiles).
Unlike many other schools, you don’t choose your specialisation until your second year. We want all students to have the opportunity to settle into upper secondary school, explore their interests, and make a more informed decision when it’s time to choose their specialisation.
Our Profiles
With Profiles, you have the opportunity to explore an area that interests you while learning alongside other students who share the same passion.
Music, Vocals & Performance is ideal for students who want to develop their vocal technique, stage presence, and musical abilities. Throughout the profile, you’ll have the opportunity to perform and build confidence both on and off the stage.
Artificial Intelligence introduces you to the fundamentals of AI and its growing role in society. Through a combination of theory and practical activities, you’ll learn how to use AI-powered tools while gaining an understanding of one of the most influential technologies of the future.
